Cable Stitch Socks

After knitting a couple of plain ribbed socks, I decided to try a cable stitch pair. They took longer, but I like how they turned out. This pair is for Machelle.

Balcony Garden

Next year I hope to get a community garden, but for now I am growing a few things on the balcony.  This is lavendar planted as seeds.

This is a green pepper plant that we got at the farmer's market this past weekend.  



This is the Father Hugo plant that Jason's grandma gave us from her yard when we visited her a few months ago.  Jason's grandpa brought it with them when they moved to Iowa many years ago.

Anniversary Bikes

Our one year wedding anniversary was May 21.  It was the Monday after our vacation so we took the day off of work to enjoy it together.  For our anniversary, we got bikes and we've been out for a few rides so far. 

  

 Here I am riding on our way back from lunch on Central St in Evanston.  I got a nice comfy cruiser bike.

Family Time in California

We went to California last week and got to visit both of our families.  We had a great time.  Here is our niece Naomi:

We took a day trip to Napa and went to the Bouchon Bakery.  Our favorite was the Hoho. 

Naomi's Hat

Last weekend I spotted this super cute hat when I was at a yarn store.  So, I got the yarn and made the hat.  It's for Naomi and we'll take it to her when we visit next month.  

Our Niece, Naomi

We met Naomi Frances Kaplan this past weekend and fell in love with her.  She made the long trip from California to Chicago and then to Milwaukee for a wedding, and we got to spend the weekend with her.  She turned nine weeks old last Friday.  Here are some pictures from our visit.  And, you can check out Naomi's own blog here:
