Finished!
Grandma June's quilt is done! My mom did the quilting and added the binding. You can see the fabric we chose for the back and binding below. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at Grandma's birthday party in less than two weeks! And, I can't wait to see what Grandma thinks of her quilt!

Handmade Mother's Day Gifts
Happy Mother's Day to our moms! Jason spent a nice day with his mom today and we got to see my mom last weekend when we met my parents in Indiana for a weekend away and to give my mom the quilt for my grandma. This is my mom's mother's day gift; a picture of our family quilted into a pillow cover.

Engaged!
Jason asked me to marry him last week and I said YES! We are very excited. He spent the last couple of months working with an amazing jewelry artist to design my ring (http://alexandrahart.blogspot.com/2010/04/oval-engagement.html) and the proposal was very private and personal. It was perfect. We've been together for over four years now, and I thought it would be fun to reflect on some of our memories together. Here are pictures from the last four years (in reverse order).

Talent
Here are all of the quilt squares together. We have a lot of talent in our family! Everyone did such a nice job on their quilt squares and they look even better when they are all together. I'll be adding a border and then I will give the quilt top to my mom and she will add the back and binding and quilt it all together. I think Grandma is really going to like it!
Here are a couple of pictures of the top and bottom (so you can see the squares a little better).

Hickman Family Quilt Squares
Here are all of the quilt squares from the Hickman Family. They printed some pictures that grandma will really enjoy in the quilt and Sam and Heidi's families made hand prints with paint that turned out great. I'll post a picture of all of the quilt squares soon. They look really great when they are all together!

Do It Your Own D*mn Self
Today was the second annual Do It Your Own D*mn Self sale in Chicago. I really enjoy talking with other crafters at these events and I am very excited about my purchases. Jason's cousin, Jamie, was in town so she joined us for lunch and some craft supply shopping. We enjoyed her company today. She lives in Iowa and we don't get to see her often.
